Zealot is a mini fpv quadcopter (250 class). After months of testing and numerous improvements this project reached final stage.
Here are a few interesting facts that separate Zealot from the "ordinary" FPV 250 quadcopter:
1) Square Arms:
- better aerodynamics due to lower drag. Flat arms create increasing downforce with speed (similar to car spoilers)
- box type profile delivers better rigidity. That helps us to significantly reduce vibrations.
- more useful space between the main plates, which opens an opportunity for better (and much easier) cable management. It's even possible to hide small components like OSD or BEC inside.
2) Compressed center of gravity for more precision, easier control and tuning.
3) A feature to dynamically mount the FPV camera. Angle can be readjusted in seconds with no tools. Really convenient if you change styles and tracks.
4) 2mm main plates (instead of 1,5mm) very high quality 100% carbon fiber for racing grade rigidity.
Zealot is not only a high performance machine, but beautiful and aesthetic as a piece of jewelry! (well, the last is true only before it gets covered in mud, grass, dust, next guy's quad parts and other "nature" in and out :) )
The main goals we went for with Zealot are:
- Clean, Precise and Easy control
- Domination over other competitors
- 101% pleasure of piloting
We did our best to create it as durable as possible! And honestly, after all those months we spent flying it almost every day, we really forgot what is to go home earlier because something broke.
That of course didn't stop us to keep optimizing it for easy maintainance and repair. There is an open access to all bolts and nuts and almost every part can be quickly changed, even on the field.
Flight Modes:
- Auto-Leveling stabilization
- HeadFree (also known as IOC, Headless, Simple)
- Horizon (keeps auto leveling, but flips and rolls are not limited)
- Acro (No self leveling, full craziness and maximum control)
